Tm-ac1900 rescue mode file download

Noticed before that the FW update wasn't taking on mine, so this weekend I finally decided to get it working. What a joy when I discovered they tried nuking them back to TM versions. From time I picked up my USB drive till having it finished should have been just over 20 minutes.

But I didn't notice that the 2nd of the FW changes in the procedure didn't go through right, so my console commands for cleaning the mdt5 data weren't working.

I did discover that I'd need an additional version to use the final erase commands, so spent time hunting down some older versions as ASUS seems to have wiped as much as they could from their sources. In the end, did a lot of reading and searching, and if I had all the needed files up front I could have been done in 30 minutes, but it took me about 2. And looking forward to rebuilding all my static IP settings for everything. I tried several approaches but cannot get the firmware downgraded.

I followed the instructions here. Direct Google Docs Link Everything worked and mtd-write2 completes without any error but when I perform nvram reset, I still see the latest TM firmware on the router. On my first attempt, I was able to get the CFT and uploaded the old firmware but that also fails.

It seems like I am stuck at the first step of downgrading the firmware. How come after completing the mtd-write2, no error given by the execution and performing nvram, I still have the latest TM firmware? Reactions: simurg. From instructions, I expected it to work but I guess I am unlucky. Anyhow, the issue was that my drive name was causing the script to be too long. When I was reading the instructions, I noticed that. I renamed the volumne name something shorter like USB and filename to 3.

I had no idea what you were telling about incremental upgrade but now I know. So I first upgraded to Asus firmware version to Then followed the instructions to erase mtd5. Finally upgraded to the latest version. It worked fine. I found the firmware on Softpedia. Goatsac Junior Member. Feb 6, 1 0 6. I recently discovered the google doc and have been attempting to follow it. I have been having measured success up until the last step. Neither having any luck. I have repeated the process many times and keep getting the same result.

I have verified that the files are being written and that the. Anybody have any thoughts on what steps I can take next? New firmware out from asus. Anyone see reports yet on whether it's safe to update?

Aug 25, 52, 7, I updated all of them thanks to mxnerd for support and helping me , and used the oldest firmware that's still available on their web pages, and then flashed to the newest, which was apparently released the day I started on this project. Didn't even notice it was that fresh. So far, so good. I'm using all fours of them, in only two rooms, on the same floor though, so mine is probably a best-case scenario.

I used to have wired gigabit LAN, but due to apt. Last edited: Apr 1, Apr 11, 1 0 6. Anyone reported yet on whether it's safe to update? Thank you. You must log in or register to reply here. Question [BitWit] Asus 'Gundam'-edition router testing.

The power light is on and so is the LAN 1 light. This used to made the power light blink but nothing happens now. No matter what I try, I only get destination host unreachable and request time out responses on the ping. The asus firmware restoration utility always says router is not in rescue mode.

The builds listed on there are again old, outdated, and in particular is a crap shoot. Worst case is serial recovery, but with the Asus recovery mode, you shouldn't need it, especially if you have the mini CFE web server. That is entirely possible. I may have to dig through THIS forum to find the information on this conversion and recovery. Can you get it to get back to the mini CFE webserver page again? EDIT: Attaching both wikis for reference. The CFE 2. Did you somehow load a firmware that upgraded CFE to v2.

I can't get back to the CFE webserver page again.
